I m Darian Demetri, a YA writer from Florida After writing for ten years I released my first novel, Crucify Me, a story that has been years in the making My publishing label, Dare 2 Dream, is important to me not only because it uses my initials, but because I ve never been afraid to step out on faith and do things that are not the status quo I m not the type of writer who writes all day long ev I m Darian Demetri, a YA writer from Florida After writing for ten years I released my first novel, Crucify Me, a story that has been years in the making My publishing label, Dare 2 Dream, is important to me not only because it uses my initials, but because I ve never been afraid to step out on faith and do things that are not the status quo I m not the type of writer who writes all day long every day When an idea comes to me I write everything down to get it out of my head, and then once I decided to stop being lazy I create brief chapter summaries Usually months later I start writing a few chapters until I get bored with it and start on a new book Then a year later I go back and complete the previous novel, and I read it over and over again before I let anyone else read it.Before I started writing novels I wrote comic books and I was a teen celebrity gossip columnist for many online magazines In school I would often drift off into a day dream, creating characters and story lines in my head To this day everything that I write comes to me in a day dream.I m a normal, approachable guy I work full time in sales during the week and on weekends I go to parties and have a good time meeting new people You ll notice there is a party scene in all of my novels Young Adult is my favorite genre to read Some of my favorites are Beautiful Creatures, The Hunger Games Trilogy, Ten Things We Did and Probably Shouldn t Have I m not a big fan of novels that are extremely long and take forever to get to the point I started out wanting to be a screenplay writer and so I always get right to the point in my novels I hope you enjoy my debut novel Crucify Me And please tweet me your opinions of it
